Community Involvement

In December, Greg was able to wrap up 2019 by being a guest speaker on a panel at the annual national conference for the "National Black Growers Council" in Atlanta GA. This was another great experience for Greg to meet other black farmers across America and learn their stories. Many of you probably did not know that Greg owns farmland and is passionate about farming & wild life conservation!

Greg was invited to be a guest speaker at Cargill to celebrate Black History Month and African American farmers. Greg, a Wealth Management Advisor, started Wallace Ridge Farms with his main focus on farming & wild life conservation 10 years ago and it has since become one of his greatest passions. The main topic of discussion focused on the personal journey of becoming a new farmer, multi-generational farming, creating generational wealth, and how companies such as Cargill can work with and support African American farmers.

On Monday, February 13th, 2017, Northwestern Mutual-Minneapolis delivered over $10,000 in resources to our hospital partners across Minnesota as part of Share More Love Day! My team and I volunteered to make the delivery to Children's Minnesota-St. Paul campus to provide comfort and a special Valentine to pediatric oncology patients, along with a craft party and snacks for all patients and their families. I think I am safe to say everyone had a great time!
